When you buy a Norwegian passport, you can purchase a new original biometric Norwegian passport with an expiry date of 2020. The file is 32 pages long. Norwegian passports (in Norsk: Norge Pass) are issued to Norwegian citizens who wish to travel internationally. The passport can also be used to prove Norwegian citizenship.

Norway has adopted EU passport legislation, so the passport has the same standardized layout as the rest of the EU. The color is burgundy and the design is similar to most EU countries, but not identical. Although Norway is not a member of the European Union, it is a party to the Schengen Agreement and a member of the European Economic Area (EEA).
